Legendary Michigan State basketball coach Tom Izzo cares deeply about his players.

You hear it all the time, Izzo cares more about making sure his players succeed after their Michigan State careers than he does about winning games. Sure, he gives his all to make sure he wins, too, but he cares about his guys on a personal level.

Not many coaches can say that and that’s what sets Izzo apart.

Whether it’s helping these guys prepare for life after basketball or just setting them up for long professional careers either in the NBA or overseas, Izzo wants to see his guys succeed.

And two more have found new professional hoops homes recently.

Former Michigan State basketball players have new homes

A couple of former MSU basketball players found new homes over the past week as Marcus Bingham Jr. joined Hapoel Haifa in Israel after a two-year stint with the Mavericks.

Bingham wasn’t the only one to find a new home overseas as Gabe Brown also signed with a new team. The former Spartan wing signed with an Italian team after spending time with the Suns in Summer League action.

While these aren’t the NBA dreams that Brown and Bingham expected after college, it’s still cool to see them get another opportunity at professional basketball.

And who knows, maybe they’ll get another shot to play in the NBA via a G-League contract somewhere down the line.

Brown and Bingham join Cassius Winston, Nick Ward, and Aaron Henry overseas.
