Folks, we may just have another special Michigan State football running back on our hands from the transfer portal.

Just two short years ago, Kenneth Walker III broke onto the scene and won the Doak Walker Award while helping Michigan State win 11 games and make a New Year’s Six bowl. It was a heck of a year for a guy who split carries at Wake Forest and just needed an opportunity.

Nathan Carter is similar in that regard.

Although he was looking like the RB1 was the UConn Huskies in 2022, he was injured just four games into the year and missed the remainder of the season. He still put up some big numbers and was a coveted portal running back.

Carter showcased plenty of strength, speed, and vision to make him one of the better running backs outside of the Power Five through the first four games, but he decided to hit the portal in the offseason rather than give an improved UConn program another year.

Michigan State fans are thrilled he chose the Spartans.

The newest Michigan State football back is a freak

Pictures surfaced of Carter earlier in the spring semester of him lifting weights and looking like he was built like a bodybuilder. He was just massive.

And then he won the Spartan Strength Award during conditioning workouts in June. He just showed that he is a gym rat and hopefully that translates to the field.

Well, he’s proven himself as a freak yet again, this time squatting 600 pounds with ease.

I mean, look how easy he made that look. That looked so effortless and you just know the average gym-goer would crumble under that kind of weight.

While we’re seeing all of this freakish strength and athleticism off the field, we have to hope it translates much like Walker’s did a couple of years ago.

I don’t know, I just feel good about Carter.
