Michigan State football fans are hungry for the start of the season and I can confidently say that meaningless daily social media arguments among rivals prove that.

We can start focusing on the start of the 2023 season now that Big Ten Media Days are almost here and we can hear from some of the leaders of the team and Mel Tucker about what to look forward to.

I’m most looking forward to seeing how some of the new guys fit with the current roster and which ones will rise up and become stars, a-la Kenneth Walker III and Jacoby Windmon.

Which newcomers could have the biggest impacts this season?

The departures of Jayden Reed, Keon Coleman, and Germie Bernard have opened up the door for some younger guys and newcomers to compete for the go-to receiver role.

I think we’re going to see a lot more of Jaron Glover, Antonio Gates Jr., Tre Mosley, and Tyrell Henry, but the one newcomer who I think is going to be a star this season is Alante Brown. And he’s already gotten the approval of teammates such as Darius Snow who said he’s going to put up huge numbers this year.

Brown is likely going to be a starter this season in the slot and his speed is going to make him a matchup problem for defenses.

Although he doesn’t have a ton of career production to his name, he’s one of those guys who could exceed expectations with a change of scenery. Michigan State might just be the right fit for him.
