After a 3-1 start to the year, Michigan State will go 1-3 over the next four games, leading to a critical matchup with Nebraska in East Lansing.

This is a prime opportunity for Michigan State to make some noise and gain some ground on a bowl berth. A win here would mean that the Spartans would just need to win one of the final three games to make a bowl but a loss could be devastating.

Matt Rhule will have Nebraska back on track soon enough, but I think Michigan State will have the advantage in this one. Mel Tucker will have his best coaching performance of the season in this one.

Prediction: Win (5-4, 3-3)

One win away from bowl eligibility, Michigan State will have the opportunity to shock Ohio State to get to a bowl and potentially ruin the Buckeyes’ playoff hopes.

That won’t happen.

The Buckeyes’ offense will be too much once again and Tucker will continue his winless streak against Ohio State as Michigan State head coach. He has, however, been getting closer every year. Not that anyone is counting that as a moral victory.

Prediction: Loss (5-5, 3-4)
