Michigan State football: Big Ten opponents revealed for 2024, 2025

Michigan State football fans have a huge 2023 season to look forward to. The Spartans are hoping to bounce back and prove that the disappointing 2022 season was a fluke.

Mel Tucker has his work cut out for him, especially with a tough schedule ahead.

We know what the 2023 schedule looks like, but on Thursday, we found out what the 2024 and 2025 conference opponents would look like for each team with USC and UCLA joining the league.

Michigan State now knows who they will play at home and on the road for the 2024 and 2025 seasons both in non-conference and Big Ten play.

As you can see, the Spartans get FAU, Louisiana, and Boston College in 2024 in non-conference play and then Western Michigan, Youngstown State, and Boston College again in 2025.

But the conference slate is much more interesting.

Road slate is brutal for Michigan State football

Michigan State will have a slightly easier road schedule in 2024 with Boston College, Maryland, Michigan, Nebraska, and Penn State, but it ramps up in 2025. The Spartans will avoid Ohio State altogether in 2025, but they’ll travel to Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, USC, and Wisconsin. Could they win a good chunk of those? That all depends on how this 2023 season goes followed by 2024.

It’ll be cool to see Ohio State at home in 2024 and UCLA, Michigan, and Penn State in East Lansing in 2025. Plus, fans will get to plan a road trip to USC.

I would have liked Michigan State to play USC or UCLA in 2024, but the Spartans will avoid both and play them for the first time ever as conference foes in 2025.
