Michigan State basketball owns 3rd-best odds to win 2024 national title

If you’re a Michigan State basketball fan, Wednesday was like Christmas for you. After over a month of waiting, both Jaden Akins and AJ Hoggard announced they’d be coming back for one more year.

This has been kind of the focal point for fans this offseason as both Akins and Hoggard will have a major say in what will happen with the Spartans’ national title run.

Vegas, too, has been keeping an eye on May 31 as the deadline for underclassmen to withdraw their names from the NBA draft is here and they have to adjust their betting odds accordingly. Well, Vegas is incredibly high on Michigan State after the decisions of Hoggard and Akins were made public.

The Spartans have some of the best odds to win the national title in 2024.

Michigan State basketball has third-best odds to win it all

With Michigan State returning two starters, the Spartans now have one of the best starting fives in the nation and arguably the deepest team.

Because of this, Vegas has given Michigan State the third-best odds to win the national title next season, behind only Duke and Kansas, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

1. Kansas: +1000
2. Duke: +1200
3. Michigan State: +1500

The Spartans are tied with UConn, Houston, and Marquette for third. But this just goes to show that Vegas believes that Michigan State is one of the top 5-6 teams in the country.

Michigan State also has the third-best odds to reach the Final Four at +450 which means if the Spartans reach their potential, some people could make some decent money.
