It’s officially that time of the year when we get excited about any praise regarding Michigan State football players from teammates and coaches.

Usually the praise comes during spring ball and fans buy into the hype.

This time, the praise is coming ahead of summer and a relatively quiet period for Michigan State football. And it’s coming from a transfer teammate.

Tunmise Adeleye took to Twitter on Monday afternoon to heap some praise on a couple of freshman defensive line teammates: Bai Jobe and Andrew Depaepe.

Not only did Adeleye tweet about those two freshmen but Brandon Jordan quote tweeted him to say that they’re about to “take over college football.”

That’s some high praise.

Michigan State football’s defensive line has bright future

The defensive line is one of the brightest spots on the roster thanks to the transfer from Adeleye, a couple of other key transfers, and the best defensive line class in the Mel Tucker era — led by Depaepe and Jobe.

Along with those two guys, Simeon Barrow, Maverick Hansen, Zion Young, Avery Dunn, Khris Bogle, Ken Talley, Alex VanSumeren, Derrick Harmon, and Jarrett Jackson, the line looks really good next season. And it feels like that position group is just going to get stronger as the young guys continue to progress.

While Jordan left after one season as the pass rush specialist, he seems to have left Michigan State in good hands. He helped recruit a heck of a 2023 class and it will soon pay off.

I, for one, am looking forward to seeing all of these guys dominate the trenches for years to come.
