Spring ball is upon us and Michigan State football is gearing up for the annual spring game this coming weekend. The Spartans were unsure if they’d have a spring game, based on the number of bodies available (last year was a nightmare) but the team is relatively healthy and ready to go.

That means that it’s time to predict some breakout stars and guys who I believe might become household names after spring ball.

Here are my top three offensive breakout candidates this spring.

It was a tough call to make between sophomore wideout Tyrell Henry and senior receiver Montorie Foster for this spot, but I decided to go with the younger pass-catcher.

While I do think Foster could have a big season and his potential has been relatively untapped throughout his career, I think Henry might just be the biggest surprise this upcoming season. Everyone is high on Antonio Gates Jr., including myself, but I think that Henry is a dynamic athlete and he’s going to break into the two-deep this season.

Henry could have a major spring and prove that he deserves to be one of the most utilized receivers on the team. I think he’s good enough to do that.

Although he played primarily special teams last year, I think we’ll see him excel as a receiver in 2023 and become a main figure in the passing game.
