Michigan State Football: Way-too-early offensive position groups preview
Wide Receivers
While losing Jayden Reed to the NFL is a loss, I still think there’s enough talent in the wide receiver room to make some noise this year.
Obviously, the alpha dog is Keon Coleman. He has the size, speed, and experience to be All-Big Ten this year. Reports are also out that he’s taken a huge step forward in becoming a leader for this team, something that I think will carry more significance than usual in a crossroads season for Mel Tucker and the Spartans.
Tre Mosley also returns, who should see a huge uptick in targets with opposing defenses shifting focus onto Coleman. Mosley has been sneaky efficient the last two seasons, averaging double-digit yards per catch every year at MSU.
The sleeper WR to have a breakout year is none other than four-star Antonio Gates Jr. He redshirted last year after being rated a top-150 recruit coming into college.
Also, look for Montorie Foster Jr. who has breakout potential when healthy.
