I’ve been pretty vocal about this one. I think that Kel’el Ware would be the perfect addition to the 2023-24 roster not only because he would immediately upgrade the center position but because he’s likely heading to the NBA after next season and he’s an athletic big who would give Michigan State one of the most high-flying rosters in the nation.

Just imagine a lineup in which Tyson Walker is running the point, Jaden Akins is the two-guard, Coen Carr comes in off the bench to play some small forward, Xavier Booker is at power forward, and Ware is at center. Four players in that lineup are lob threats. That’d be incredible.

Why do I like Ware so much? Well, I saw what he did to Michigan State in the PK85 earlier in the year and immediately fell in love with his game. He scored 17 points with nine rebounds and was all over the floor. He was the best player on Oregon in that game.

And he was probably the most naturally gifted player on the roster all year, but he was just raw.

Ware would be a fantastic addition to the center rotation and it would help Mady Sissoko out a ton.

Do I think it’ll happen? No. But that’s why this is called “ideal” targets.
