The offseason is in full swing and Michigan State basketball is looking to finalize its roster for the 2023-24 season.

There’s still plenty of time, but a few seniors have decisions to make about coming back for one final season while Pierre Brooks just transferred on Wednesday, opening up a scholarship for a potential portal addition.

If Tom Izzo decides to reach into the portal, here are three guys who I think would be the perfect additions.

Let’s start with an honorable mention.

This is more of a personal want than a realistic option, but that’s why this is called “ideal” transfer targets and not “likely” additions.

Traore is a former five-star center from France who stands 6-foot-10 and 225 pounds. He didn’t play a ton as a true freshman in 2022-23 with Auburn, averaging just 9.8 minutes in 25 games and he put up just 2.1 points and 1.4 rebounds per game. He’s an athletic big man that could extend his range beyond the paint and be a threat to stretch the floor.

If Izzo wants to land a center who could become something special at the college level and has NBA potential, Traore is that guy.

A fresh start is going to do him wonders, especially if he lands with the right coaching staff.
