Michigan State basketball: 3 bold predictions vs. Kansas State in Sweet 16
On Thursday night, every Michigan State basketball fan in the world is going to be on pins and needles. The Spartans will take on No. 3 seed Kansas State in the Sweet 16 and the winner will be just one game away from that coveted Final Four.
Michigan State is fresh off a clutch win over No. 2 seed Marquette while Kansas State out-toughed No. 6 seed Kentucky in a thriller.
Will we see the Spartans pull off another win as the lower seed to advance to the Elite Eight?
3. Joey Hauser scores 20
Something caught my eye this week with players talking to the media. OK, Tyson Walker being stoic with the NYC media was dominating my thoughts, but what Joey Hauser told Kyle Austin of MLive was interesting. He said that the new Wilson ball being used in the NCAA Tournament doesn’t bother him. Actually, he said he prefers it.
It would make sense as he’s 5-for-9 from distance and 12-for-13 from the free throw line. He hasn’t been struggling from the field like many other players in the tournament.
Hauser is averaging 15.5 points per game over the first two games of the tourney and I think he has his best game yet against Kansas State, scoring 20.
This will be his first 20-point performance since he dropped 20 at Nebraska near the end of the regular season.
