4. Break the press

The Spartans did not play a perfect game, and the end of it had quite a few errors.

To start, I’m not sure how a team can miss six straight free throws, including three straight 1-and-1 front ends. The Spartans are lucky that USC only came within nine points at the end but there were missed open shots and turnovers.

A better team doesn’t make those mistakes and might hit a few more shots and next thing you know, Hoggard needs 1 free throw to make it a two-possession game. Do you trust him to make it? At this point, I don’t. I really hope he proves me wrong against Marquette.
