Michigan State basketball: 4 keys to victory vs. USC

This is it. March Madness. The postseason. January, February, Izzo.

While the last few years have been painful for our beloved Spartans, I think we can all agree that this region is winnable. Michigan State basketball avoided every team we wanted it to avoid. Arizona, Kansas, Houston as well as lower seeded West Virginia, Oral Roberts and Utah State.

Before we get ahead of ourselves, here are the keys to seeing a Sunday game this week.

1. Score more points than the other team

Here’s an eye-opening stat: Tom Izzo teams are 53-0 when scoring more points than the other team. When they don’t score more points? 0-23.

I think it’s safe to say for Michigan State to beat USC, it’s going to have to put the ball through the hoop more times the Trojans. Shocking, I know.
