Con: This loss was same old Spartans

Cold shooting, no defense, 7-0 runs, and no fire. We’ve seen that story dozens of times this season. Even when the Spartans got close, they let the other team go on a 7-0 run. I’m sure whatever network has the pleasure of showing the Spartans will have the “7-0 run” graphic ready to go… for the other team.

Malik Hall regressed to the worst version of himself, going 0-for-6 and doing that stupid thing that he always does where he dribbles like he’s Allen Iverson only to throw up a low-percentage shot or turn it over.

I used to make fun of Duke teams in the past because of their “live by the three, die by the three” style of the play. But the Spartans have become just that. If the shots aren’t falling, MSU has no chance of competing.

If only there was a portal where players could transfer to schools that need an athletic big who can rebound and not give the other team second-chance scoring opportunities and score down low when our shooting goes cold. If only, if only.
