Allow me to explain why that’s a solid idea.

Michigan State vs. Nebraska Prediction

These teams met earlier this season in East Lansing and the Spartans pulled away thanks to a dominant first-half defensive performance, leading 39-17 at the break on the way to a 74-56 win.

Expecting a repeat performance is a lot to ask considering the Cornhuskers are 11-3 at home and Michigan State is just 4-6 on the road.

While you can’t bank on another blowout win for the Spartans, betting on the total might be a smart play.

With the total score over/under listed at 139 points, I have to take the under here, and not only because these teams combined for just 130 points in their last meeting.

Michigan State (140th) and Nebraska (282nd!!!) are not the best teams when it comes to offensive efficiency. When you couple that with the fact that both of these teams rank inside the top 140 in defensive efficiency, it’s easy to see how this game could be low-scoring.

If you want to pick a side for this game, too, I’d go with the Spartans’ moneyline at -180 odds. The Cornhuskers have won four straight games at home, but are a much worse offensive team than the Spartans.

If this game is close late, I could see Michigan State having a much easier time pulling away. MSU shoots 38.5% from beyond the arc and 76.5% from the charity stripe, compared to 31.7% 3-point shooting and 63.7% free-throw shooting from Nebraska.

If you want to get risky, but enhance your potential payout, you could combine Michigan State moneyline and the under 139 at +196 odds!

No matter what you bet on, you won’t want to miss your chance at $150 in bonus bets. Sign up with DraftKings before this offer ends!
