Michigan State basketball: Report card for statement win over No. 17 Indiana
Malik Hall: B+
Malik Hall’s solid game got lost in the mix as Tyson Walker and AJ Hoggard had huge games but he came off the bench and had 10 points and five rebounds. He was perfect from the line and just getting to the stripe is a good sign for the senior forward.
Michigan State needs Hall to be more aggressive and he was just that on Tuesday night.
Jaxon Kohler: A-
One of the most impressive players not named Hoggard or Walker on Tuesday night was Jaxon Kohler. He was putting Trayce Jackson-Davis in a blender, grabbing rebounds, and playing one of the best games of his freshman season. He finished with just four points but he grabbed seven rebounds, an assist, and a steal.
Imagine if we got this Kohler for the rest of the season.
Tre Holloman: B
Tre Holloman didn’t have a massive impact, by any means, but he played a solid 10 minutes and had a nifty and-one to kind of kickstart the offense in the first half. Just a quality performance from Holloman.
Pierre Brooks: Incomplete
It’s tough to give Pierre Brooks a grade here since he played just four minutes and missed his only shot attempt by a wide margin so we’ll give him an incomplete. I would love to see him get on track before the NCAA Tournament.
