2. AJ Hoggard has one of his best games of the season

Along with Malik Hall playing well, I think we’re going to see AJ Hoggard have one of his best games of the season, scoring at the rim and hitting a couple of big threes while dishing close to 10 assists with only a couple of turnovers.

Tom Izzo said he was impressed with how Hoggard played at Michigan and while I wasn’t as high on the junior point guard’s performance, he’ll more than impress on Tuesday night.

Hoggard is going to score at will at the rim, taking advantage of his size and strength and he’ll facilitate for his teammates. He’s going to have one of those games that Aaron Henry did a couple of seasons ago when he put the entire team on his back and willed Michigan State to the NCAA Tournament. I don’t think the Spartans are in danger of missing the tourney, but this win would likely cement a spot in the Big Dance.

An emotional performance from Hoggard will be just what the doctor ordered for Michigan State.
