Michigan State football: Tunmise Adeleye is buying into Mel Tucker’s vision
Coming off a 5-7 season and looking for answers, Michigan State football coach Mel Tucker turned his attention toward the portal to land some quality talent.
Sure, he had a top 25 recruiting class signed and ready to get to campus, but he knew he’d have to complement that pool of talent with some high-impact transfers.
Tucker has done it for years: getting guys from the portal to buy into his vision.
He’s landed stars like Kenneth Walker III, Jacoby Windmon, and now Tunmise Adeleye, a former top-100 recruit from Texas A&M.
Tunmise took to Twitter to say that he loves this year’s MSU team and he sees the vision.
Adeleye is all in. And that’s a great sign.
Tunmise is a big piece to the Michigan State football puzzle
Adeleye is going to play a big role for the Spartans this upcoming season on the defensive line, learning from Brandon Jordan and new defensive line coach Diron Reynolds.
The fact that he says that he sees the vision after playing on a team that was loaded with stars at Texas A&M is an encouraging sign, but we all saw how the Aggies fared this past season. Still, I doubt Adeleye would go from one losing program to another that he believes won’t win anything. He sees the vision because Tucker sold him on it when he was still in the portal. It’s why he chose MSU — along with Jordan.
I believe that Adeleye has the opportunity to be this year’s most impactful newcomer, following the footsteps of Windmon and Walker III in the two previous seasons.
