Losers of five of the past seven games, Michigan State basketball desperately needs a bounce-back and a home game against a red-hot Maryland team would be a good start.

If Michigan State is able to pick up a win over the Terrapins on Tuesday night, that could set up a winning streak at the right time for a team in need of some traction. Tom Izzo knows how important the final eight games are and it all starts with Maryland who sits at 16-7 overall.

Let’s get bold ahead of the big game.

3. Malik Hall has big-time bounce-back game

Saturday’s performance against Rutgers at Madison Square Garden was one of Malik Hall’s worst as a Spartan. Sure, he had 13 rebounds and was really good on the glass, but he just couldn’t seem to put anything together offensively and was dominated by Paul Mulcahy late in the game.

Hall shot 1-for-9 from the floor and wasn’t really all that close on most of his shots.

He had three turnovers and two fouls to go along with his four points and it just wasn’t his game. It’s time he bounces back in a big way.

Hall has had some big games against Maryland throughout his career and that’ll continue on Tuesday night as he’ll finish with 17 points and six rebounds on over 50 percent shooting.
