1. Michigan State covers thanks to guard play

If there’s one team in the Big Ten that could match up well with Michigan State’s guards, it would have to be Rutgers. Cam Spencer, Caleb McConnell, and Paul Mulcahy are going to give Michigan State all it can handle, but Tyson Walker, AJ Hoggard, and Jaden Akins are going to win the battle.

Michigan State is going to add to its resume with a big win over Rutgers in order to avoid a three-game losing streak.

The Spartans will cover the 3.5-point spread against the Scarlet Knights on Thursday night and the Breslin Center will be rocking once again. This is a chance for Michigan State to not only pick up a resume-building win but move up in the Big Ten standings by taking down the league’s No. 2 team.

Hoggard is going to have himself another very solid game with 10-plus points and eight assists while Walker will score over 20. Akins will supplement their play with a couple of big threes of his own to spark the offense.

Michigan State needs this win to get back on track and it’ll get just that.
