Rocket Watts is heading back to East Lansing on Wednesday night. Michigan State basketball is hosting Oakland for the annual in-state battle and the former Spartan guard is now with the Grizzlies as they’re looking to get back into the win column.

Oakland is just 2-10 on the season while Michigan State is 7-4. Both teams are looking to build some momentum before conference play.

Let’s dive into three bolds predictions as the Spartans face off against Oakland.

3. Jaxon Kohler has his breakout game

We haven’t seen Jaxon Kohler truly break out yet. He’s actually had a rough start to his Michigan State career but he’s going to have a nice showing on Wednesday night.

Oakland is not one of the bigger teams nor are the Grizzlies very good at defending which means I can see Kohler grabbing a number of offensive boards and capitalizing with some second-chance buckets. He’s going to finish with his first double-digit scoring game to go along with eight rebounds. He’ll approach a double-double against the Grizzlies.

Kohler will finish with 12 points and those eight boards and he’ll shoot 5-for-7 from the floor, hitting a couple of free throws as well.

Hopefully this launches him into a hot streak for the next couple of months.
