Michigan State basketball: 5 bold predictions for December 2022
1. Michigan State goes perfect (5-0)
I know this seems crazy given the fact that Michigan State is coming off its worst loss of the season and it was rather demoralizing to lose like that at Notre Dame, but the early-season tests should allow this team to get hot in a month like December.
There are two Big Ten opponents awaiting in Northwestern and Penn State and while the first is a home game and should be a win, the second will be the toughest game of the month.
Michigan State will go into Happy Valley and pick up a really good win over a Penn State team that I honestly think should make the tournament this year. It’ll play a close one with the Nittany Lions, but I think the Spartans get the job done on the road to improve to 7-3 and head into the home stretch of December with serious momentum.
By the Penn State game, I do believe Jaden Akins will be healthy.
I could also see Malik Hall returning before Christmas to give the team a nice boost and get the Spartans back to full strength.
Michigan State will add wins over Oakland, Brown, and Buffalo to end the month of December.
