Michigan State basketball: 5 bold predictions for December 2022
3. Spartans shoot 40 percent from 3-point range
Believe it or not, through one month of play, Michigan State is shooting about 36 percent from deep. The Spartans are only shooting around 44 percent from the floor, but the deep accuracy is encouraging, considering they played on a ship and one of their worst games of the season against Notre Dame.
The Spartans are shooting fairly well for a team that hasn’t come close to hitting its potential yet which is also another encouraging sign.
This team has shooters like Pierre Brooks, Tyson Walker, Joey Hauser, Malik Hall, and Jaden Akins. Heck, AJ Hoggard has even dabbled with his jumper this year and it hasn’t looked nearly as bad. He has nice form but just needs to hit the threes consistently. Still, I think he’ll be a threat from distance.
All of this will contribute to a hot-shooting month from the Spartans in which they reach the 40-percent plateau in terms of 3-point shooting.
