Michigan State basketball: Report card from massive win over Kentucky
Mady Sissoko: A
Joey Hauser and Mady Sissoko were easily the best players for Michigan State on Tuesday night.
While Hauser was leading the team in scoring, Sissoko was locking down in the post and playing one of the most complete games of his career.
For a second straight game, he was tasked with guarding a national player of the year candidate and he really held his own against Oscar Tshiebwe. Tom Izzo put all of his eggs in the Mady basket this offseason and so far, it looks like he made a winning move. Sissoko is proving to be one of the better bigs in the country so far this year.
Sissoko finished the game with 16 points, eight rebounds, and three steals on 5-of-10 shooting. He was clutch down the stretch and threw down some game-clinching alley-oops.
In two games against Drew Timme and Tshiebwe, Mady is averaging 15 points and 8.5 rebounds. Not too shabby for a guy who fans gave up on after two quiet years.
