Malik Hall: A-
The only reason I’m not giving Malik Hall an ‘A’ here is because he had some really bad turnovers against the Wildcats. There were about 3-4 instances where he threw the ball right to Kentucky defenders in key situations. That just can’t happen from a senior leader.
All Malik did to redeem himself was score 20 points, including two tying dunks to send the game into overtime and double-overtime, respectively.
Hall shot the ball the best of anyone on the team, going 7-for-11 from the floor, 1-for-3 from deep, and 5-for-5 from the line. He did have those four turnovers but he also had five rebounds and played some tight defense when called upon.
Not often are guys asked to play 40-plus minutes, but Hall was on the court for 42 minutes and showed no signs of fatigue, and pieced together a quietly solid game. He was an integral part of this win.
