For the first time since 2017, we’ll get a Michigan State vs Minnesota matchup.

The cross-divisional Big Ten foes haven’t played since LJ Scott was running rampant all over that Gopher defense in a win back in 2017 which should have been a blowout but a big lead melted to just three when the final seconds ticked off the clock. It was still a big win in a surprise 10-win season for the Spartans which followed a dreadful 3-9 campaign a year earlier.

Now Minnesota will be in East Lansing on Saturday afternoon for a massive Big Ten battle between two conference title hopefuls.

Minnesota is undefeated on the season with one of the nation’s best offenses and defenses but the Gophers haven’t exactly played anyone with a pulse yet. Michigan State is fresh off its first loss on the road to a pass-heavy Washington team led by Michael Penix. Everyone is down on the Spartans after this loss but this feels like a prove-them-wrong game.

This is must-see TV.
