Saturday night’s Michigan State vs Washington game will be the center of attention on a national level in primetime as the Spartans and Huskies will be playing on ABC.

It’s not exactly what you’d consider a massive college football showdown, but the two sides are fighting for different things. Washington is fighting to get the program turned around and earn some national relevance while the Spartans are looking for respect. Everyone seems to be picking Washington on Saturday night and that may play right into Michigan State’s favor.

Michigan State needs a big win here to prove that it belongs in the College Football Playoff and Big Ten title conversations. A loss would definitely hurt that image.

Let’s hope for a Payton Thorne bounce-back game and a win in Seattle.
