The rich got richer on Wednesday afternoon as former four-star defensive lineman Ken Talley committed to Michigan State football.

Brandon Jordan’s first game as Michigan State football’s pass rush specialist was an overwhelming success. He watched as the guys he worked with all summer long flourished and lived in Western Michigan’s backfield for 60 minutes in a 35-13 win.

Jacoby Windmon was the top beneficiary of the Brandon Jordan Effect, recording seven total tackles and four sacks off the edge. Everyone took notice.

And that included former four-star defensive lineman Ken Talley who recently entered the transfer portal after spending just months at Penn State.

On Wednesday, Talley decided he wanted to join the Spartans and the hype of Jordan as he committed to the Spartans.

While he could apply for immediate eligibility, it would make more sense that he redshirts this season since the year already started and he’d be way too far behind, but you never know. He could decide to push for some playing time for the Spartans this year.

The rich just keep getting richer.

Michigan State’s defensive line is one of the best in the Big Ten and the starting group (Windmon, Khris Bogle, Jacob Slade, and Simeon Barrow) is borderline elite. Behind them is some extreme depth and the addition of Talley is only going to make things more interesting moving forward. He’s going to be a key addition for 2023 and beyond.

Imagining a future interior defensive line with Alex VanSumeren, Talley, Jalen Hunt, Barrow, Maverick Hansen, and Dashaun Mallory is impressive and it’ll ease the post-Slade concerns.

Jordan has to be thrilled to get another top prospect to work with. Talley was the No. 273 overall prospect in the 2022 class, per 247Sports.
