Madden 23 released a number of ratings on Wednesday and two of the most intriguing were Kenneth Walker III’s speed and overall rating.

Kenneth Walker III has had quite the past calendar year.

After transferring from Wake Forest to Michigan State, Walker finished as the Spartans’ leading rusher and arguably the best running back in decades, winning the school’s first Doak Walker Award. He also won the Walter Camp Award but was snubbed from the Heisman ceremony in New York in December.

Walker went from a split-carry back at Wake Forest to the nation’s top running back and then played his way into a second-round pick with the Seattle Seahawks.

Although Spartan fans would disagree with the choice, Breece Hall was the first running back off the board in the 2022 NFL Draft with Walker going shortly after to Seattle.

Well, it looks like Madden 23 also believes Walker should have been the first running back chosen, rating him as the top rookie rusher in the new video game.

Walker is a solid 77 overall with Hall sitting right behind him at 76 and James Cook from Georgia is the only other back who rates out at over 75. Not too shabby.

Earlier I wrote about Madden 23 being high on Walker’s speed rating, listing him as a 93 in that category which is tied for fourth out of all NFL running backs.

If you don’t usually buy Madden, maybe this should be the year because Walker seems like he’ll be a fun running back to use. Hopefully his dominance translates to the NFL.
