A day after being listed as an option for Baylor Scheierman, Michigan State basketball missed the cut for the talented transfer.
Just one day after Michigan State basketball was listed as a potential suitor for South Dakota State transfer Baylor Scheierman, he reportedly unveiled a top 10 that didn’t include the Spartans.
In fact, Michigan State was one of a handful of teams that were previously mentioned that didn’t make the cut.
But one Big Ten team did actually make the cut: Nebraska.
Baylor Scheierman has narrowed his list of potential transfer options to 10, per source:

Arkansas
Clemson
Creighton
Duke
Kansas
Kentucky
Mississippi State
Nebraska
Texas
Wake Forest
Already conducted 8 in-home visits.

This isn’t the most shocking news as Michigan State was already considered a long-shot when listed as a team that reached out and it may have something to do with not being able to promise anything NIL-wise compared to the likes of Kentucky, Kansas, or Duke.
And before you ask why the heck the Cornhuskers made the cut instead of the Spartans, you have to realize he’s from Nebraska and probably grew up rooting for the home-state school.
Michigan State will have to get back to the drawing board here (if they hadn’t already) and Micah Parrish needs to be the current top priority. He was on campus on Wednesday and that’s a great development for the Spartans who are looking to add at least one wing through the portal.
Fans are growing impatient despite the fact that the deadline for portal entrants is May 1 so there’s still some time to focus on the transfer market then. There will likely be more big names entering the portal in the next week, or so.
On to the next.
