Draymond Green joins elite company in terms of NBA playoff greatness
Former Spartan star Draymond Green joins some elite company when it comes to NBA playoff greatness after a big showing in Game 3.
Once again, the Golden State Warriors are looking like serious NBA title contenders once again and after stealing Game 3 on the road from the Nuggets, it looks like they’re heading into the next round with a ton of confidence.
The Warriors wouldn’t have been able to out-tough the Nuggets on the road without a former Spartan (Draymond Green) and former Wolverine (Jordan Poole).
It’s cool to see former Big Ten stars from the state of Michigan lead one of the NBA’s best teams although it would be nice if they were both Spartans, one will have to do.
Green has been a staple of the Warriors’ lineup for years and he continues to impress, frustrating guys like Nikola Jokic and Aaron Gordon through three games.
On Thursday night, his Warriors took a 3-0 lead thanks to his 10 assists and solid defense, finishing the game in some elite company, according to ESPN Stats & Info.
Green is now in the same breath as LeBron James, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and Jason Kidd when it comes to playoff dominance with 200-plus steals and 10 triple-doubles. That’s a crazy stat because it shows that those players did just about everything for their respective teams.
Being in the same breath as arguably the greatest player of all time and three other Hall of Famers just goes to show how valuable he has been and continues to be even when people overlook him.
And to think some NBA fans said Draymond was washed up.
