Michigan State basketball is headed to its 24th straight NCAA Tournament under Tom Izzo and this one comes with mixed expectations. Let’s get bold.

For the 24th straight time, Michigan State basketball is headed to the NCAA Tournament. The Spartans have the second-longest streak in college basketball and they come in as a 7-seed and luckily for them, Tom Izzo has led 7-seeds to Final Fours before.

Michigan State needs to play like it has over the past couple of weeks and not like it did in the month of February if it wants to make a run to the Final Four.

It’s not out of the question, however.

Let’s get bold ahead of Michigan State’s potential NCAA Tournament run.

5. MSU shoots over 45 percent from deep

Michigan State tends to be a streaky team when it comes to shooting the ball. This team has the potential to be one of the best shooting squads in the Tom Izzo era, but it’s simply not consistent enough.

There are plenty of shooters like Gabe Brown, Max Christie, Tyson Walker, Joey Hauser, Jaden Akins, Malik Hall, and even Marcus Bingham from time to time so expect them to step up in the most important time of the year. These guys will catch fire offensively and shoot over 45 percent from deep for the entirety of their stay in the tournament.

Will that help the Spartans make a run to the Final Four? Possibly, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Michigan State will be strong from deep, but the rest needs to fall into place.
