Michigan State basketball saw a different player star in each game of the Big Ten Tournament. Let’s recap who stood out for the Spartans.

Michigan State performed much better than many expected them to during the 2022 Big Ten Tournament. Their respectable showing down in Indianapolis was highlighted by an upset win against Wisconsin on March 11.

A Spartan victory against Maryland the day before strengthened their odds of receiving a higher seed in the NCAA tournament field and they nearly gave Purdue a run for their money one day after shutting down the Badgers.

Outside of a sloppy stretch caused by poor decision-making and heavy full-court pressure from the Terrapins in the second half of MSU’s opening contest, the Spartans showed plenty of fight versus a trio of Big Ten adversaries and enhanced their profile in the eyes of the NCAA selection committee. Their improvement is a huge relief after the team struggled mightily during the later stages of regular-season conference play.

Let’s identify a standout from each game (with an honorable mention or two acknowledgments to go along with each top achiever).
