1. Marcus Bingham has to play around the rim

A day after Marcus Bingham was the star, shooting 7-for-11 from the floor and not taking any 3-point shots and making a home on the block, he did not follow up with the same type of production. Instead of making his home on the block, he stationed himself on the perimeter.

Bingham hit a shot from deep but sometimes he thinks he is a guard and can just camp out on the perimeter and take half of his shots from outside. This is not helping him or the team. Bingham is a big and needs to play big for the Spartans to excel.

In games where there is a much bigger and stronger big like Zach Edey or Trevion Williams, he shies away from the challenge and is afraid to do any work down low.

Michigan State needs Bingham to let his game come to him and find a home down on the block. He is so good and has some nice footwork when he wants to but it is not consistent. When Bingham is on the block, he spreads the floor and gives room to the guards to actually work out on the perimeter. When he is always outside, he bunches everyone up and the guards cannot get around their own defender along with the defender Bingham pulls out to them.

In this game, the pick-and-roll was open. Out of a timeout, they ran an iso pick and roll and AJ Hoggard hit Bingham for a nice alley-oop. However, too many times did he come out, set a screen, and then slip to the 3-point arc instead of rolling back to the basket. Bingham must play big and strong and have confidence in himself and he will excel.
