Michigan State Basketball: 3 keys to victory vs. Wisconsin in quarterfinals
By Nate Rhoades
2. Turnovers will be a deciding factor
Michigan State looked like they were getting their turnovers under control. They were averaging 11.5 turnovers in the last seven games of the regular season. Now they averaged 16 in the first game in the tournament, almost half of those came with only three minutes left in the game.
The Spartans need to get the turnovers under control. They have the capability to do so. They only turned the ball over nine times in the first 37 minutes of the game. Once the full-court press started, they fell apart and turned the ball over even times. This cannot happen against the Badgers.
If the Spartans can play a solid offensive game and only turn the ball over nine times in the first 35 minutes, they will have a great shot at beating Wisconsin. If they cannot and they start the game with a ton of turnovers, they will dig themselves a hole that they will not be able to climb out of.
