1. Tom Izzo, winningest Big Ten coach in history

This win over Maryland marked the 663rd win for Tom Izzo. This finally puts him ahead of the legendary Bob Knight. It also puts Izzo in his own category in the Big Ten and he now sits atop the conference by himself.

This marks just another milestone in Izzo’s famous tenure as head coach of Michigan State. He took over in the 1995-96 season and he has been there ever since. The Spartans missed the NCAA Tournament in his first two seasons but Michigan State stuck by his side and he has been to every tournament since.

Izzo has a knack for March. He has taken the Spartans to 23 straight tournaments. In eight of those tournaments, he has finished with a Final Four. He was able to get to the championship game twice where he won the whole thing in 2000 with the Mateen Cleaves-led Spartans.

The Hall of Famer also does some magic in the tournament where some of these Final Four teams were not in the preseason top 25 and they were not even on the radar to make it out of the first weekend.

Can Izzo make turn this slump around and make another run in March? He is the winningest coach in the Big Ten after all.
