Michigan State Basketball: 3 bold predictions for Senior Day vs. Maryland
2. All three seniors scoring in double figures
No offense to Michael Peterson as he’s not included in this senior scoring outburst prediction, but I don’t expect him to play more than a couple of minutes against the Terrapins. I could, however, see him scoring his first points as a Spartan.
As for the other three seniors (Joey Hauser, Marcus Bingham Jr., and Gabe Brown), they’re all going to score in double figures against Maryland.
Tom Izzo has been disappointed with his veteran leadership this season but they’re going to show up in what could potentially be all three of their last home games as Spartans. All three have the option to return for another season (Hauser for two) if they want to utilize their COVID-19 year, but all are undecided and plan on participating in Senior Day activities.
Brown is going to continue shooting well (he’s been better over the past few games), scoring 15 points and hitting a few big threes in the process, Hauser will continue to shoot well as he’s done throughout Big Ten play, and Bingham will approach double-double territory with 11 points and eight rebounds.
Not a bad Senior Day for the three vets. Maybe they’ll have another shot to replicate that in 2022-23.
