The last time Michigan State basketball traveled to Ann Arbor, the Spartans were riding high before Michigan postponed the contest. What happens on Tuesday?

Michigan State finally picked up a signature win after a nightmare of a month of February, beating Purdue on Saturday afternoon.

Now, the Spartans face another tough test, traveling to Ann Arbor to take on Michigan. If the Spartans can beat the Wolverines, they’ll sweep the season series and win two straight games for the first time in a month. On top of that, Tom Izzo would break Bob Knight’s record of 662 wins as a Big Ten head coach.

Michigan will be without Juwan Howard and it’ll need a win here to keep its NCAA Tournament hopes alive. There’s a lot on the line here.

Let’s get bold ahead of Tuesday’s critical matchup.

3. Michigan State makes 10 threes

Against Purdue, Michigan State was on fire from the perimeter. In fact, the Spartans finished with nine 3-pointers on 20 attempts. Shooting 45 percent from deep is going to win you a lot of games and that’s a big reason why the Spartans controlled for just about 40 minutes against the Boilermakers.

The Spartans will stay hot against Michigan, shooting nearly 50 percent again, making 10 threes against the Wolverines on 22 attempts. That’s going to be a big boost.

Max Christie and Gabe Brown will both find their form in the same game for the second outing in a row and Malik Hall will get back on track after a tough showing against Purdue. Tyson Walker, too, will hit a couple of big threes.

Michigan State will start to heat up from 3-point range heading into the final two games.
