It was rumored that former Georgia Tech defensive line coach Marco Coleman was joining Michigan State football the move is now official.

Mel Tucker continues to build his coaching staff now adding former NFL edge rusher and former Georgia Tech defensive line coach Marco Coleman.

It was rumored about one week ago that Coleman was leaving the Yellow Jackets and coming to join Mel Tucker and Michigan State football in East Lansing. It was seemingly a done deal but there was no official announcement so many were still skeptical to start saying he was a Spartan.

But on Feb. 9, the Spartans announced the move was official and he would be joining the staff next season. This move got a lot of attention not only from Spartans fans but from NFL players and former teammates and players who know Coleman.

We saw current, future, and former players show their excitement on social media about the new addition. This is not only huge for the aspect of he is a great coach but for the aspect of he is gonna help you recruit players on the line. This is going to benefit the young talent coming in and the transfers coming in.

One player I am excited to see work with Coleman is incoming freshman Alex VanSumeren. He has an extremely high ceiling and adding a great coach like Coleman to help develop him could make him into something really special for the Spartans and one guy you want to look out for in the future.

All in all, it was an amazing hire for Mel and the Spartans and I can’t wait to see what next season holds for this team.
