2. Gabe Brown got his confidence back

In the weeks leading up to the Rutgers game, Gabe Brown was desperately trying to find his shot. After a strong start to his senior season, he was struggling mightily to get back on track as his shot flattened out considerably over the past month. He just didn’t seem to have the legs and his jumpers barely got above the rim.

Tom Izzo talked about the need for Gabe to get back on track and he did just that against the Scarlet Knights, scoring 20 points on 6-of-7 shooting from deep. He looked like old Gabe.

Confidence can go a long way and now that Brown has generated some positive momentum and saw seven shots fall on nine attempts against Rutgers, he’s going to head into Tuesday’s matchup with Wisconsin with his mojo back. He’s going to hunt for his own shot early on and that’s going to help the Spartans because an aggressive, confident Gabe is great for MSU.

Wisconsin doesn’t want to see a confident Gabe because when he’s on, Michigan State’s offense is really tough to stop.
