Michigan State basketball is hoping to bounce back and beat Wisconsin for the second time this season. Here’s why the Spartans will do just that.

After a disappointing loss to Northwestern a couple of weeks ago, Michigan State basketball faced a tough Wisconsin team in Madison and escaped with a convincing win.

Michigan State is hoping for the same fate on Tuesday night after a blowout Rutgers loss.

The Spartans are 17-5 on the year and 8-3 in conference play and they’ll need a big win over No. 14 Wisconsin on Tuesday night in order to stay afloat in the Big Ten title race.

Here’s why the Spartans will bounce back and beat Wisconsin.

3. Michigan State will avoid a slow start

The good thing about returning to the Breslin Center besides having the crowd on their side is the fact that Michigan State rarely gets off to slow starts at home.

Of course, there are always exceptions, but when Michigan State is on the road, a slow start is almost expected and when the Spartans are at home, it’s the opposite. We’re going to see a tough, aggressive Michigan State come out on Tuesday night and take control from the opening tip.

Michigan State will race out to an early lead and hold on to that until halftime. When Michigan State starts strong, it usually leads to wins. That’ll be the case here again.

Just like in Madison, Michigan State will avoid a disastrous start.
