With the great Kenneth Walker leaving Michigan State football, a lot of fans are curious who are some names to look out for in 2022.

Its no question that Kenneth Walker III was the main focal point of the Spartans’ offense in the 2021 season. Now, with K9 declaring for the NFL draft, it is leaving many wondering who will be the players that will step up and try and fill the void left by Walker.

So I will name three players that I think will have the most impact on the Spartan offense in 2022.

For the heck of it, I will name two “veteran” Spartans and for the final player, name an incoming freshman I think will make a huge impact.

1. Jayden Reed, WR

Receiver Jayden Reed was not only of the most impactful players for the Spartans in 2021, ending the season with 1,026 yards, 10 touchdowns, and averaging 17 yards per catch, but he was also one of the best wideouts in the Big Ten.

Reed and quarterback Payton Thorne have a great relationship with each other and it shows a lot more than you would expect when it comes to playing on the field. Reed has great speed and catching abilities along with being extremely athletic. We saw him use his excellent ball skills multiple times this year, going up and Moss-ing defensive backs which is highly impressive due to him not being the biggest guy on the field.

Reed also has really good speed. We saw it on display in many situations last season whether it would be getting enough separation and being able to get open or if it was on special teams. He showed that if you give him a lot of open fields there is not a lot of players who can catch him.
