Michigan State Football: Way-too-early game-by-game predictions for 2022
Taulia Tagovailoa will be back as one of the best quarterbacks in the Big Ten and that’s going to make this matchup difficult for the Spartans as they struggled with him in the second half of the 2021 matchup. I still think Michigan State will handle business in College Park, however.
People believe that Mike Locksley and the Terrapins are going to surprise some people next season but I just don’t see it. You reach a point where you realize that Maryland football is just mediocre and it will be for a long time.
Final Score: Michigan State 38, Maryland 27 (5-0, 2-0)
This is the trickiest game on the schedule and it’ll tell us a lot about this year’s team. Will Michigan State be able to rebound from last season’s 56-7 debacle and put up a fight against Ohio State and that explosive offense or will CJ Stroud and Jaxon Smith-Njigba be able to do whatever they want against the Spartans?
Honestly, I think this year’s game will be much more competitive.
Michigan State will strike first which will be much needed and it’ll be a back-and-forth battle throughout the first half. There will be serious shootout vibes in this one.
In the end, though, I think Ohio State wins and then scores a late touchdown to make the final score a little more lopsided than the game actually was.
Final Score: Ohio State 41, Michigan State 27 (5-1, 2-1)
