Michigan State basketball takes on Nebraska Wednesday. It will be favored heavily in this matchup and will look to put the sloppy play behind them.

Michigan State has the first home game of 2022 against bottom-dwelling Nebraska. The Spartans started the year with a rocky win on Sunday and they are hoping to get better play from nearly everyone and get the convincing win at home to show Big Ten play is not too much for them.

Gabe Brown will be outstanding like normal as he has been one of the more consistent players on the team. Tyson Walker will look to rebound from an underwhelming performance. Joey Hauser will look to continue his growth while he is trending in the right direction.

What will happen in this one?

3. Joey Hauser will assert himself

Joey Hauser will have his best game as a Spartan and even his career. Throughout all of last month, Hauser was being more aggressive and not forcing everything up. He has been looking for his shot and letting the game come to him.

Hauser has 17 points and 11 rebounds and 10 points and nine rebounds, respectively, over his last two games. He is shooting the ball well and has been looking really confident as of late. In this matchup against Nebraska — a game that should be semi-easy for the Spartans — it is the perfect time for him to finally assert himself.

In this matchup, Hauser will be on fire and make five 3-pointers. He will show why Tom Izzo has been saying that he’s one of the best — if not the best — shooters on the team. from here on out teams will have to also watch out for Hauser.
