2. Tyson Walker is PG1

I don’t think there’s any doubt that Tyson Walker can be ‘that dude’ for Michigan State. There may have been some uncertainty seeing as he hadn’t been an offensive option for the Spartans through the first nine games, but he really stepped up on Wednesday.

When he was on the floor at the point guard spot, the offense just ran so much smoother.

Walker finished the game with a season-high 15 points to go along with five rebounds and three assists. He still had four turnovers which need to be cleaned up a bit, but it’s clear that he’s the best option right now to play a majority of minutes at the point.

Although I do like what AJ Hoggard brings to the floor, until he can clean up his turnover issues and be more consistent offensively, I think Walker has to be the guy.

If Walker can build off this strong offensive showing (5-of-7 shooting), he’s going to be a problem for the rest of the Big Ten all year.
