Michigan State Basketball: Game-by-game predictions for November 2021
Alright, here’s where things get even more interesting. Auburn is ranked No. 22 to start the season so this could be another notch on the resume or it could be a tough loss.
After picking up a solid win over Loyola Chicago and having a victory over Kansas already, I see the Spartans coming into this one prepared as Tom Izzo knows all about how to handle quick turnovers in scheduling. He knows Bruce Pearl and has beaten him before so he should know what to expect here.
The Tigers were just 13-14 last year but have a solid roster this season and should be legitimate SEC threats.
Final Score: Michigan State 63, Auburn 58 (6-0)
This is where I think Michigan State finally slips up. The Spartans may be a top-20 team at this point in the season and I think Baylor is just too good. The Bears are beatable after losing some players from last year’s national title squad, but they’re No. 8 to start the season for a reason and Scott Drew has a good enough team to repeat.
In the Battle 4 Atlantis title game, I think the Bears handle the Spartans and hand them their first loss of the season.
Realistically, Michigan State could start the opening month with 3-4 losses, but I think this team is better than people expect.
Final Score: Michigan State 54, Baylor 67 (6-1)
