Receivers/Tight Ends: B+

We didn’t see a ton of action from the receivers and tight ends on Saturday night but what we did see was pretty good.

This unit was a few big catches away from earning an A or an A- but a lot of the mishaps in the second half were due to poor throws.

Jayden Reed had a really good overall game, catching four passes for 59 yards and a touchdown while returning a punt for the game-tying touchdown in the fourth quarter. He averaged 34.5 yards per kick return on the night which put the Spartans in good field position.

Tre Mosley also had a solid game, catching a team-high six passes for 70 yards and he showed flashes of what he could truly bring to the table. He was sure-handed all night and didn’t shy away from contact. It looks like the Spartans found their third option with Ricky White out and Jalen Nailor quiet all night.

Connor Heyward was the star of the tight ends, catching two passes for 39 yards, including an electric 34-yarder at the end of the first half.
