2. Kenneth Walker III

There were a few Kenneth Walker III runs on Saturday that had my jaw on the floor.

One was this absolute beauty to get Michigan State’s drive going on the first play of the second half. He made some incredible cuts, showed patience, and his jukes were something out of a video game.

And then there was this run later in the third quarter to get Michigan State closer to the end zone. He made a quick decision the second he got the handoff, changed the direction of the play, broke through two weak arm tackles on defenders converging, juked a third defender, and then was brought down in the red zone.

On the day, Walker III finished with 172 yards on 27 carries and he added another three receptions for 17 yards and a touchdown where even the slightest hesitation after the catch freed him for the score. He just has unbelievable football instincts.

Without Walker III moving the ball with regularity, the Spartans probably don’t score four second-half touchdowns to win.
