All it took was one game. One game and Kenneth Walker III is already the victim of massive amounts of disrespect as Walter Camp chose its national players of the week and the Michigan State football star was not one of them.

Walter Camp announced that Bijan Robinson was the offensive player of the week in college football over Walker III.

And you better believe Michigan State fans were fed up with the instant disrespect for Walker.

Brett McMurphy’s mentions (because he’s the one who announced the news) were filled with angry Michigan State fans because, well, Robinson’s performance against Louisiana didn’t come close to what Walker did against Northwestern.

Sure, the Wildcats aren’t on the same level as Louisiana, but rushing for 264 yards and four touchdowns with an average over 10 against a Power Five team is not an easy task. Walker had the best performance of anyone in college football this past weekend and the fact that he wasn’t named offensive player of the week is a crime.

Robinson ran for 104 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries against the Ragin’ Cajuns which is impressive considering the opponent, but Walker ran for nearly triple the yardage and three more scores.

Disrespect continues for Michigan State football

The disrespect for Michigan State football is nothing new as it dates back to the Mark Dantonio days. The Spartans would constantly have one of the best teams in the Big Ten and yet none of the national media gave them any love and it was all Ohio State all the time.

Players always got disrespected, too. National awards, accolades, all-conference honors, and just any type of recognition seemed much harder to earn at Michigan State than most schools.

Sure, it’s probably a coincidence, but this blatant oversight on a player of the week award is kind of crazy. How do you pick a guy who rushed for a third of the yards and had nearly the same amount of carries with three fewer touchdowns? Just wild.

The #disrespekt continues.
